About Me

James currently manages 20 of the best Loan Officers in Atlanta as Sr VP of Sales Development with Shelter Lending Services (formerly Fairfield Mortgage).  James joined Shelter in 1994 and was company's top loan officer in Georgia for 20 straight years helping over 3,000 families finance their homes. Out of 150+ loan officers affiliated with Shelter nationwide, James' team ranked #1 nationally six years in a row.  James now focuses on business development and has helped Shelter form 16 mortgage alliance partnerships with real estate offices around Atlanta.

James was born in Greenville, SC and received both his BBA and MBA from the University of Georgia. After graduating from UGA in 1991, James entered the mortgage business as a loan officer in Atlanta with BancBoston Mortgage Corporation. James was BancBoston's Rookie of the Year in 1992 and received the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia's Gold Award for Excellence every year from 1994 to 2014.

James met his wife, Wendi, in high school and they were married in 1992. After graduating from Clemson University and enjoying a successful career in marketing research, Wendi's latest challenge has been chasing around the couple's four kids. Jake, Jamie, and Drew are teenage triplets and Rachel is their younger sister who came along eight years later.

James spends most of his free time coaching High School soccer and football at Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, GA. He also gets out on the golf course when he can and loves attending University of Georgia football games.

James attends Passion City Church and is also involved with local non-profit organizations Camp Highland and Lighthouse Family Retreat.
